Rubye's Banana Pudding

This is my grandmother’s recipe for banana pudding,
the ultimate comfort food. In my opinion, this is much
better than using boxed pudding mix, and it’s so simple!
1cup sugar
3 eggs
¼ cup flour
2 cups milk
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 bananas, sliced
Vanilla wafers
In a saucepan, beat the sugar and eggs together. Stir
in the flour, milk, and salt. Cook and stir over medium-
low heat until the mixture thickens enough to coat a
spoon. Stir in the vanilla extract; remove from heat and
let cool.
Layer the bottom of a medium casserole dish with
vanilla wafers, then add a layer of sliced bananas. Pour
the cooled pudding mixture over the bananas. Line the
edges of the dish with more vanilla wafers. Serve warm
or chilled.
